For many years, Linzi had felt like the area around her was beginning to droop. She felt that this drop was changing the shape and appearance of her face, which was beginning to have an effect on her confidence. Linzi also admitted that she noticed a slight drop in her eyebrows when at pictures of her younger self, therefore felt it was time to do something about this. To achieve her desired look, Linzi visited Signature Clinic to receive a lateral . This procedure improves the appearance of the forehead, the brow and the area around the eyes by raising the soft tissue and skin that surrounds the forehead and brow area. The procedure typically takes between 1 to 2 hours and is performed under local anaesthesia. A lateral brow lift can be performed alone or alongside other facial procedures if the patient wishes, such as eyelid surgery or a face-lift, to get an even more and lifted look to the face.  

Once Linzi decided that she wanted to get a , she began to research clinics that the procedure. After booking her   at our Manchester Clinic, Linzi had her first video call consultation with . During this initial consultation, Linzi spoke to  about the reasonings for her a  and explained how the area around her eyebrows had begun to drop over the past few years. During the video call,  talked through the procedure in great detail and explained how a lateral  would help Linzi to achieve her desired results.  also any questions and addressed the concerns that Linzi had regarding the procedure, leaving her feeling excited and more confident about the surgery. 

The day of the procedure arrived and Linzi was feeling more than ready to her lateral . Upon arrival in our Manchester clinic, Linzi was greeted by  and his team. The team ran though the pre-surgery stage of procedure with Linzi and made sure she was aware of what was going to happen . The team explained that Linzi would be given local anaesthetic to numb the area of the forehead, meaning she would not feel any pain at all during the procedure.  

Before he began the surgery,  talked Linzi through the steps he was going to take during the  procedure once again. He explained that he would begin with a small incision along her hairline above her eyebrows, allowing him to remove the excess skin in the area. Removing this excess skin would allow him to lift the skin in order to get a more lifted and look. Ultimately, lifting this skin below the hairline would help  to achieve his main goal of lifting the tail of Linzi’s eyebrow and open up the area around her eyelids. 

The surgery was successfully performed under 2 hours, with the team and  regularly checking in with Linzi throughout the procedure to see if she was comfortable and not in any pain. Linzi later told  and the team that: 

"My experience at Signature Clinic has been really, really good. I felt really looked after, all of the staff have been really wonderful. The surgeon was great and talked me through all of the procedure. There was no pain, it was a little bit strange for the first two minutes, and obviously administrating the local anaesthetic was a bit sore but that was the only pain." 

Following the procedure, Linzi was taken the stages of her aftercare plan and was told that her recovery period would take 3 to 4 weeks. Patients who receive a  can expect to see results in 4 to 6 weeks, although full results including diminished scarring will not be seen for at least 6 months after the surgery. Linzi was also told that swelling and bruising is expected with this type of procedure, and it often tends to get worse before it improves. Any swelling or bruising caused by a  should disappear after 2 weeks, although the aftercare team told Linzi there were several things she could do to help with the . For example, she was told that applying a cold compress or cotton pad with cold witch hazel to the area would help to keep the swelling at bay. Linzi was also advised that massaging the scars along her hairline 4 weeks after her surgery would help to reduce the risk of permanent scarring. 

Linzi left the clinic feeling extremely positive about her procedure and eager to see her results after her recovery period. Linzi claimed:  

"My experience here has been really positive, and I’ll definitely come back again."
